He has been such a hit at the library they are considering a fall reading program! Excerpt from a recent email from Laura.......
"Boy, did I miss it! I had to work today so here's Kelly's report on Rudy's last day in the summer reading program at the Watauga County Public Library. Kelly picked him up a little later - close to 11 am - I was already at work.
"When they got to the library, people were already waiting for them and they were swamped the whole time. Parents with children, grandmothers with children, some neighbors of mine there with a camera to send pictures to a friend. They actually read to very few children - several grandmothers who sat with Rudy and read to their grandchildren. Mostly people just poured in the door to see Rudy and talk with him.
"After weeks of Rudy walking all over the library greeting people and making friends with everyone who was in the building, regardless of age, evidently Rudy's networking hit the jackpot this morning. Rudy thoroughly enjoyed himself! He even filled the library with his special version of Great Dane gas on several occasions."
