These photos are from Broadway Barks 6, held on July 11th, 2004.

We were invited to participate in Broadway Barks in NYC's Shubert Alley again this year. What a FUN day! It is hosted by Mary Tyler Moore and Bernadette Peters. (Word has it Mary may be looking for a Dane). This event was sponsored by Animal Planet and Hartz Mountain.

Several thousand people walked through Shubert Alley, located between 2 theatres where 22 other rescues/shelters were set up at tables with dogs. Michelle C. brought Tino (Valentino) who was very well behaved. Although he's a small Dane and still growing, of course he was the largest dog there and attracted a lot of attention.

NY news (CBS and NBC) both aired segments as their final piece of the evening. Tino had about a 5-second shot on CBS's news - cool!

One of Animal Planet's "Animal Cops" presented a check to Broadway Barks for $10,000 on behalf of Animal Planet - that gets divided out among all the rescues that attended....MAGDRL included!

Kristen Chenoweth from the Broadway show "Wicked" presented Tino on stage. She was apparently the most popular actress there, and was photographed with Tino for the newspapers. In a week or so their website, www.broadwaybarks.com should also be updated with new photos.

Oh, and Michelle C. was rubbing elbows with Hostess, Mary Tyler Moore!

In addition to all the volunteers who came out to help I would also like to thank Lisa Kelley from Jersey Pets Magazine for coming out.

A special "thanks" to Suzanne Nobile & Stacey Tavan of Nobile & Tavan for flying in from Louisiana to join us. They met some of us for dinner Friday night and really worked the crowd at Broadway Barks on our behalf, passing out literature and talking to everyone that came by. They also donated some of their merchandise to us! The restaurant where we met - John Barry's - will be donating 20% of the bill to us. Tino wore one of the Nobile & Tavan "Adopt me" coats. These are 2 terrific women (mother and daughter) who are really dedicated to our cause. Kathy S., thank you for pursuing them relentlessly!
