MAGDRL MERCHANDISE SHOPPING - 4 WAYS!

1. Looking for that perfect gift? Consider purchasing new Mid-Atlantic Great Dane Rescue merchandise and help a Great Dane in need. We have shirts, mugs, hats, Dane Angel Stockings, gentle leaders, and picture frames.

2. We also now have a store on the Café Press web site. Please visit our store for additional merchandise. You can even make up custom shirts with your pet's photo.

3. Zazzle is another website similar to Café Press. They have additional t-shirt colors that Café Press doesn’t have. They also carry travel mugs. A portion of every sale is donated to MAGDRL. If you go to Zazzle through iGive.com, we get donations two ways!

How it works: Go to the Zazzle web site in iGive.com and select a design. The web site will then display the styles. Select a style and then the color. After that, select the size and quantity.

4. We also sell items occasionally on eBay. Don't forget that you can make donations to be sold on eBay and take a tax donation too!

BOTTLE RECYCLING

TerraCycle needs your help in collecting used soda bottles. For every bottle that is collected, TerraCycle will donate $0.05 to the charity of your choice. If you send in 20-oz small-mouth bottles with the label removed, they will donate $0.06 per bottle!

The bottles are sent to our factory, cleaned and used to package TerraCycle Plant Food™. To date, we have been able to rescue over 1,098,208 bottles. Learn more about the Bottle Brigade Program and sign up here.

Ideal bottles for TerraCycle are 20 oz SODA bottles that have small mouths, and the labels removed. For example any 20oz Pepsi, Mountain Dew or Dr. Pepper bottle with it's label removed would be ideal. Due to the extra effort that you put in to send us ideal bottles we will pay an extra $0.01 for each of these bottles (with the label removed). Thank you for collection and helping us build TerraCycle one bottle at a time.

Note:   ONLY 20-oz SODA bottles will be accepted for this fundraiser. Please, no water bottles!

How:
Becoming a member of the TerraCycle 'Bottle Brigade' is easy! Just enter your information on their website, select MAGDRL from the list of organizations (we are already registered) and you're on your way!

Terracycle will send you four Bottle Brigade collection boxes. When you have filled the first box, ship it back to them using the prepaid label (already affixed to the box), and use your remaining boxes to keep collecting. As soon as they receive two boxes from you, they will send you another four boxes so you'll never have to stop earning funds!!!! Terracycle will send MAGDRL a check twice a year!!!!

What: Collect the Weight Circle symbols from Purina dog food.

How: Collect the Weight Circle symbols from Purina dog food (example on left), and send them to MAGDRL.  Purina will then send MAGDRL rebate checks.

Paper Recycling

What: Collect your recyclable paper and place it in an Abitibi collection bin.

How: When paper is collected, it's weighed with scales on Abitibi Paper Retriever® trucks. A monthly statement detailing the amount of paper collected is accompanied by a check for the amount collected.

Details: The company, Abitibi Paper Retriever, recycles paper and turns it into newsprint. The MD/DC area uses it for the Baltimore Sun paper. How the program works is this...

1. Abitibi places a 6' x 6'x 6' bin on a property (could be a vet's office, someone's store/office building, hotel, apartment complex, park etc.). Really anywhere where the property manager/business owner will give permission to have the bin set up. It's bright green & yellow and highly decaled (with a dog on it) to get the public's attention.
   
   
2. People put their paper trash in it! So anyone walking by can help out too. The recycling company then comes and collects the paper and weighs it on a monthly basis and we receive a check based on the amount collected.
   
   Other than giving written permission to have the bin set up, the business where the bin would be placed, doesn't have to do anything with it. We don't have to do anything with it, we're not asking for money, everyone is helping to recycle, and our orphans benefit from it.
   
   
3. It can be promoted as an "adopt a charity," with MAGDRL being the charity. Abitibi emailed me a flyer that explains the program and can be given to anyone you contact.

Jody Cohen will handle the coordination of this fundraiser for MD/DC. If any of our MD/DC volunteers would like to help, please contact her. She will be the liaison between Abitibi, you and the business where the bin will be set up.

We are hoping someone will coordinate this for PA & South Jersey. The Rep. for those areas is Paul Flenders and he can be reached at 215-892-3111. If anyone is interested, please contact your area Coordinator first so a designated person can work with Paul.

PRINTER CARTRIDGE RECYCLING

Empties4Cash will pay for any inkjet cartridges on their list.

Inkjets can be shipped to the address below, or pre-paid labels for boxes or small baggies can be sent to you so you can ship them yourself.

The company has some new regulations as of July 2007 so please observe the following:

• Please ship at least 2 cartridges per baggie.
  
  
• Do NOT send Epson cartridges or other cartridges NOT on their price list in the postage-paid baggies: http://empties4cash.com/cartridge-price-list.html
  
  
• Please send at least 20 inkjets per one red FedEx label. There must be at least five toner cartridges per red label. Or you can combine inkjets with toners on one label. At this point toners can be any original manufacturer (just not refilled/reused).
  
  
• (I still send Epsons and cartridges not on the list when I send a whole box with others that are accepted. They will still recycle them, but they prefer not to use the baggies for non-accepted cartridges.)

Not every inkjet gets payment, but they will recycle ones that do not. No need to sort payment vs. non-payment. However, if you would like to know the current acceptable price list, visit http://empties4cash.com/cartridge-price-list.html.

As of July 2007, we are using the same company to recycle toner cartridges as we do for inkjet cartridges. So anyone who has access to them from work or anywhere else you can collect those, too.

Empties4Cash will pay for any toner cartridges.

Toner cartridges can be shipped to the address below, or pre-paid labels for boxes or small baggies can be sent to you so you can ship them yourself.

Please observe the following:

• There must be at least five toner cartridges per red label. Or you can combine inkjets with toners on one label. At this point toners can be any original manufacturer (just not refilled/reused).
