Otis is a sweet, handsome 6 year old fawn male with natural ears. We don’t know why he was originally given up by his family but he must have not been exposed to many things previously. He is timid around new people and things, and is easily startled by noises. His muscle tone was poor, probably from spending too much time being crated, but with regular exercise, this is improving. He is learning to play with balls, and while he's not very adept at it yet, he does enjoy it.
He's been in 2 foster households since coming in, and integrated easily into both. He doesn't seem to have any issues with other dogs, besides being a bit clumsy and not having the best sense of personal space. He takes treats gently with a very soft mouth. He’s sensitive to corrections, very well behaved, and knows several commands. Even when the other dogs around him get excited, he does not react or bark. He has however, reacted when he saw a fox in the yard next door and seems to have a prey drive.
He enjoys going out to play in the yard and out for walks and he walks well on a leash. He is a pretty youthful 6 year old. Mostly, he enjoys following his people around. While the other dogs stay in the sunniest room in the house, he prefers to be wherever his people are. He is a very easy dog and an absolute pleasure to have around. We have no history of him with cats or small children so we won’t place him with any. And because of his timidity, he would do best in a quieter home. Otis came to MAGDRL in January 2017
